Coastal Bend Bays and EstuariesSeagrass Protection/Restoration
Category: Submerged Cost: $50,000 Description: Impacts from recreational boating activities have been highlighted in the Coastal Bend Bays Plan as an issue of concern. During fiscal year 1999, the Coastal Bend Bays Estuaries Program convened several meetings with various stakeholder groups to identify potential demonstration projects that would address this concern. Despite the stated goal of the project, most of the funds for the on-going projects are being utilized for seagrass restoration and very little are being directed for education and outreach.
