Coastal Bend Bays and Estuaries

Riparian Corridor Habitat Protection and Restoration Project

Category:  Submerged, Intertidal, Wetland, and Upland

Cost:  $50,000

Description:  A major outcome of the Habitat and Living Resources Task Force during Plan development was the need to preserve, create and/or restore functional, natural habitats of all major types, especially those exhibiting degraded characteristics. A fiscal year 1999 project is currently assessing riparian habitat within the five coastal counties of the Coastal Bend. The on-going project will also identify degraded areas and develop a restoration strategy. The fiscal year 2000 project described herein will focus on identifying partners to implement a restoration project at one or more of the recommended sites identified in the on-going project.

Outcome:  This project has not yet been completed.
