Roanoke River Basin Regional Council Demonstration Project

Cost: This project is jointly funded by the APNEP ($25,000) and the US Fish and Wildlife Service ($16,000).

Description: The Roanoke River Basin Regional Council is working with the NRCS to rehabilitate and permanently protect a section of degraded riparian land along the Roanoke River through rotational grazing, the exclusion of cattle and by planting hardwood seedlings. Partners include the USFWS, Fishing Creek SWCD, private landowners, NC Cooperative Extension Service, DENR, APNEP and EPA.

Outcome: This project is currently ongoing.
