Maryland Coastal Bays

Rural Legacy Program

Category: Submerged, Intertidal, Wetland, and Upland

Cost: $ 2.5 million

Description: The state of Maryland used transfer funds to purchase easements on land for which each county competes. To date, 2,500 acres have been purchased within the Coastal Bays watershed.

Outcome: The project has been very successful and, to date, works perfectly.
