Land Use Maps and Change Analysis

Type: Condition of habitat and sources affecting habitat (i.e., the condition or functionality of the habitat) and stressors affecting habitat (i.e., which sources have contributed to its degradation and whether they are direct or indirect factors).

Category: Submerged

Cost: $ 30,000 for each baywide loading estimate

Description: Estimates of non-point sources TN, TP, and TSS loadings are made (in ungaged basins) using land-use specific runoff coefficients. For this study, local planners would be asked to indicate on existing land use maps where future changes in land-use are expected to occur, and runoff coefficients for future non-point source estimates on the planners' responses.

Outcome: This study should produce information on important elements of the past, existing, and future nutrient and TSS loading rates.
