Shore Zone Mapping - A Characterization
of Local Shorelines
Type: Extent of habitat (i.e., area of habitat
and whether there has been a decline); condition of habitat
and sources affecting habitat (i.e., the condition or functionality
of the habitat); and stressors affecting habitat (i.e.,
which sources have contributed to its degradation and whether
they are direct or indirect factors).

Description: Shore Zone Inventory of Marine Shorelines
is GIS based system to rapidly map and characterize the shoreline
and its resources. The system is in currently being beta
tested.
Outcome: Provides information on segments of the shoreline
from nearshore to upland areas. Makes information available
to federal, state and local resource planners and others.
